Alastair Maloney, Head of Sales

What does your role involve?

I’m fortunate to have a really diverse role at Simply.

My main role is to manage a small team of Business Development Managers spread across the south of England, helping them hunt for new business and account manage their current clients.

I also manage a large central territory myself, developing relationships with some of England’s most prestigious estate agents. I spend a huge amount of time in meetings, on the phone or driving up and down the motorway.

This year has been quite a challenge, predominately being office-based. Zoom has replaced our face to face meetings, and most of my driving has been to the shops and back!

What is your greatest achievement at Simply?

Having been with Simply for approaching 8 years, I’ve enjoyed some fantastic achievements. However, the greatest and most memorable achievement was being Top selling BDM 12 months in a row.

What inspires you at Simply?

Simply is a great company to work for, with many different people and personalities that inspire me. Being part of Simply and knowing my colleagues have always got my back really motivates me to succeed!

What makes you most proud to work at Simply?

Our colleagues – most definitely! Everyone is always willing to go the extra mile to help a client, especially during the lockdown, where everyone really rallied together.

What is your passion outside of work?

I love anything to do with motorsport, mainly Formula 1. My wife says I get a twinkle in my eye when I look at nice cars.

What is your guilty pleasure?

It’s got to be Power ballads. I love whacking the stereo up and belting out a tune on a Saturday morning. Mainly to annoy my teenage children who are desperately trying to have a lay-in!
